the ride will probably last like 30 minutes or so, if that...last month, we just kind of cruised through downtown several times and such. basically, the ride is easy enough that anybody who can pedal a bike can be a part of it though, so bring whoever, and they'll be fine.
i wish that our greensboro masses were that large. the last two that i've set up have averaged around 15-20 people, but that's still better than nothing at all!
so i think i saw this years critical mass and i must tell anyone that was there that you guys looked fucking pathetic. there must have been 10 or 11 people. you looked like a bunch of 13 year olds pretending to do a jackass stunt. GIVE IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am referring to greensboro btw not charlotte. but either way both are retarded and serve no purpose but to massage the worthless egos of those involved.
yeah people should just go around posting as a guest on random message boards instead acting like they're better than other people. talk about worthless egos........
or maybe we have no idea what happened before and the cops were trying to catch him cause he was a racist sexist homophobe that just hit a girl cause she was homosexual maybe i bet then many wouldnt be so negative toward the cop maybe. but maybe he just had a bad day and didnt like the bike the guy was riding. or maybe he was jealous maybe jealous cause the guy had an awesome bike
josh topic how is your typing justified? 'seriuosly' = not a real word
-your good friend garrett owens from welcome nc the greatest state thats way better than texas now move back
I think it's clearly justified - bikes, like cars, should yield to pedestrians, not zip around them because "that's what the flow of traffic is doing".
instead of a desk job, he shouldve been beaten unconscious. by me.
on a bike, like a motorcycle, you are allowed to utilize the middle of lanes, and flow in between cars and such. the cop wasnt a pedestrian. there was nothing justified about this. just a fat clown flexing his badge muscle.
vegan - i dont know about bikes, but motorcycles are NOT allowed to lane split in NY lane splittling is legal in only a few places, New York is not one of them
I dont know all states its legal except for CA off of the top of my head. It sounds dumb to me, people are crappy, Id worry about some jerk opening his door of turning in some so that i clip my hands/bike on his car etc but these are just my opinions, some people love to do this and currently do it around here and rant and rave about how it should be legalized etc. im ok without it. and im cool with helmet laws.
I really cant believe thats legal. But yeah, I do it on my bike when i ride on the street, but mainly at stoplights and stuff like that, so i can get at the front - the way everyone can see me.
with that said that cop is an asshole. promise.
Say the dude was smoking a blunt or some shit while riding (which im positive he wasn't) he could have just wrapped his arms around the guy and kind of yanked him off the bike, instead of launching him on the the curb.
The cop was a 22 year old who had been on the force only a few weeks. Played football in high school and college.
I can only guess this was a residual roid rage episode.
Numerous witnesses said that the rider did nothing at all to provoke the attack and many have offered to testify in court on his behalf, although this case will be thrown out pretty fast.
The main thing that upsets me about this abuse of power (aside from the fact that I ride my bike to and from work almost everyday) is that the cop flat out lied on his police report. If it wasnt for the random bystander with a camera, the cyclist would have to defend himself against heinous charges (resisting arrest, assault on an officer and disorderly conduct) in court where it would be his word against the douchebag aggressive moron of a cop, who the court holds in much higher esteem, because we all know that cops are extremely trustworthy and moral beings.
To anyone who thinks that this cyclist "got what he deserves" he didnt, but he will soon enough in the form of a large settlement payed for by taxpayers. In 2006 a female rider was pulled off her bike by bruce smolka, an assistant police chief with a penchant for beating non-violent protestors and she was awarded $37,000.
This police officer needs to be permanently relieved from his position as he will be more of a detriment to the force than a contributer to the city of New York.
