For those that knew Tripp or maybe even seen him play drums in a mirad of local bands in the Winston-Salem music scene (most recently Red Orchestra Radio/Anything on Fire), he tragically passed away this morning after swerving his car off the road. I'll wait for the news to report all the facts out of respect.
R.I.P. dude, hate to see you go like that.

I think that I have tried to write this about 10 times already but really words can not describe how much of a loss Tripp will be to myself and all of the people that were a part of his very short life. For the almost 4 years I played alongside him in Red Orchestra Radio, and close to 2 in Anything On Fire, we held down the rhythm section for both, and shared both good times and bad. On and off the stage Tripp was a loyal good friend. He always would lend an ear to listen to whatever you had to say and would always tell you what you need to hear even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. His love and respect for his friends and family resonated all throughout his life and was always quick to lend his support.
Tripp was also a diligent hard working guy with his job at Silk Road Technologies. I would always hear through him how well he was doing and how much his bosses and co workers appreciated what he brought to that company. He put everything he had into setting things right.
They have lost an invaluable member of their team.
We have all lost an invaluable part of our lives.
I will probably never get used to the fact that he is gone. Ever.
We practice here at my house in Winston Salem, and I went downstairs and just sat at his drums, and thats when it sunk in even more how much I am going to miss this guy.
I wish that we could still continue to do what we loved doing, which was being a group of friends that enjoyed playing music together, being a group that thought it knew nothing could break us apart.
I am sorry that it all had to stop.
I'm sorry you had to go Tripp.
We are all going to miss you my friend.
To everyone else, I believe that there will be a viewing on Monday and the funeral on Tuesday. As for times I do not know, but I will post something on here to update if someone else doesn't already. -

Here is the official writeup from the Journal:Man dies after car runs off road, hits tree
CLEMMONS -- A man died yesterday when his car ran off the right side of Frye Bridge Road and hit a tree, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
Milbourne Legrand Joye III, 25, of 5321 Sterling Forest Drive was alone and driving east on Frye Bridge Road when the wreck occurred about 4:09 a.m., said Trooper Eric Naylor.
The wreck happened just before the turn that led to the house where Joye lived with his parents, Naylor said.
Joye's car ran off the road and hit the corner of a driveway, then crossed over several yards before hitting a cable television box, Naylor said. Joye's car was turning over when it then hit a tree and broke in two, he said. Joye died at the scene.
Naylor said that the highway patrol is waiting for the results of an autopsy and is still investigating the crash.

This is extremely tragic, and I'm terribly sorry to hear about this. I don't believe I ever got a chance to know him on a personal level, but I always hate hearing about young talented, positive people passing away. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. Things like this really make you appreciate life so much more, and remind you how precious life is, and to take full advantage of it while you can. -

Tripp was an amazing person....
he was always upbeat, and a genuinely fun guy to be around.
i hate i didn't get to know him as well as some of you did, but everytime i was around him he treated me like we had known each other for years.
you don't see too many people like him, that can brighten a room and your day just by coming around.
i'll miss him. -

I was thinking of all the bands tripp has been in through the years and I realized that he had one of the most diverse resumes out of anyone I know. He loved music period. Everything from from one end of the spectrum to the other. when I first met him he was playing for the Flaming skunks and Tight Surveillance then later he moved onto great bands like The Driver, Red Orchestra Radio, and Anything on Fire (and that's only about half of them). He even filled in on drums for an old ska band i played in back in highschool. damn man good times. he will be missed by many. -

Tripp did play in IGN.
If you're talking about the same YMCA show that I'm thinking of, it would have been for Eric Swaim's b-day. I think I still have the flyer. It was IGN, Ric Flair All-Sars, Ten Second Rule, Tight Surveilance and Josh's band....that I can't remember the name of at the moment....my bad Josh.
Tripp was a great guy and an amazing drummer. I used to sit in awe just watching how fluidly he could manipulate the drums....and this was when we were in high school.
I didn't get the chance to see him perform with any of the other bands after I moved from NC, and am very sorry for that. He will be greatly missed by all. -

My God. I havent talked to Tripp since I left NC. Yeah, he did play in IGN, and was an amazing drummer, and an even better friend. I can't even begin to fathom him not with us...I'm at a loss for words...Looking at pics from the days of IGN...it hard to believe this at allI still remember tattooing Tripp at his house...man I miss those days. He will be missed.
