That is pretty insane. I wonder if the person who bought it also gets royalties now from the reprints because I know that one is a pretty popular seller where I work.
I highly doubt someone that paid 80 million for a painting really cares about royalties that he/she would receive off of the sales from a $13 poster. Just my guess.
True, but high quality reprints (Like a Giclee) can cost around $200 and I know with our company if someone buys frames from us, the copyright holder gets a portion of that money too. But yea I doubt it's a significant amount of money at all, just curious.
This does remind me of a person who called a few months back and asked if some $9 poster was hand signed by Van Gogh (who died in 1890)
