Here is a nice short little slideshow documentary about this cat that spent 18 years of his life on the streets of Williamsburg doing/selling drugs. Peep the Quicktime: http://lovebryan.com/movies/somethings.mov
It got me thinking, what are some things you've done in the past for money? They don't have to felonious either. I personally made quick cheese selling bootleg CD's in High School. When it got to the point that teachers were paying, meeting me in parking lots and what not, I had to fall back. Then by 2000, it's like everyone got a CD burner for Christmas and "Napster" and it was no longer an art for my quality product. I also bought candy in bulk and sold it. Shortly after then, it's weird, you suddenly align yourself with all these other kids that sell stuff. Some sold dime bags, this other kid I knew worked for Eckerd and pillaged it for 35mm film, Polaroids, printer ink and cameras. Then I met a guy who operated out the back of his covered pickup truck. This kid had literally 1-200 guns moving. Semi-autos, rifles, AK's - no lie. He got arrested about a month in a half after I met him. Brother got kicked out for bringing a gun to school.
i'm with you on the bulk candy thing. In elementary school i had a friend who had the cheap hookup on twizzlers so i bought them for a quarter a pack and sold them for a dollar. Then i bought a bunch of baseball cards and pogs.
other than that I used to sell prescription drugs, fake IDs, and I used to steal or buy for real cheap rollar skate parts and make some bad ass setups and sell those.
last fall, me and some fellow design students would host some get togethers mainly to give all the studio kids a break. i got a free copy of the latest Traktor virtual mixer, and we'd play around some. Kids posted flyers we made up some cheesy names usually design/photography/studio related DJ DMAXX BLACK (myself) Liquid Light, CMYK, stuff like that. After a few extra kids kept showing up, we posted flyers etc. Ended up making around $200 each time we put one on, i'd just play pre-made mixtapes all night, and to keep the corny kids happy i'd play a Hood Internet mashup every so often and kids would flip shit. Oh and dont forget to play that damned MGMT Electric Feel trash. Yeah, i'd be embarrassed if any of you showed up. I was making easy cash.
car parts. me and my buddy made over 2K off of a 200$ car candy in elementary school. go to sams, get candy that parents pay for, go to school and sell. awesome.
sold black tar heroin to elementary school kids. murder for hire. extortion. kidnapping. illegal liquor sales. escort for middle aged ladies. made my own religion up. made magazines then had my believers sell them for me while giving up their lives. told them about numerous "end time" prophecys that never came true. how good it is to be a jehovahs witness.
and you couldnt say "111-103", you had to include hueston and i. we'll remember that next time you want a sandwich or a hug. ps, the herps all came from the south, you know that lexington exit is further down than 103
