RALEIGH -- Beginning Friday, school districts across North Carolina will be smoke-free --yet another sign that the state is shedding its loyalty to tobacco.
Now, all 115 school districts in the state have adopted anti-tobacco policies that stretch beyond school grounds to off-campus events. School districts had until Aug. 1 to adopt policies that forbid smoking and tobacco use by students, teachers, family members and visitors. It means coaches will no longer be able to smoke at games and schools no longer can have designated smoking areas for faculty members.
occupant:i drove past tabor the other day and saw a "tobacco free campus" sign and wondered what that was all about.
