my mom and I were trying to figure this out the other day. I walked in the room and said "what the hell are you watching?" Pretty pointless in my opinion.
well i can understand that it takes skill to train the horse etc but i get what youre saying but really - do many people watch this stuff? its sunday right at noon and ive seen about 20 minutes worth total that wasnt clips on the news. i dont know of anyone thathas been watching either
i didn't mean for my last comment to come off as negative, just that the people i hear talk about it are retired and have time to watch in get into the olympics.
Most people I know are way into it. Including myself.
It gives me the chance to check out some sports I never get to see any other time. Last night, I stayed up pretty late and caught a water polo match. Neat stuff.
that's almost as funny as the pictures of valeri liukin kissing his daughter on the lips as congratulations. although i can't find that picture as easily.
I was watching msnbc last night and there was some guy who got mistaken to be Micheal Phelps. There was seriously a swarm of like 50-100 Chinese people trying to take his photo/get his autograph, and of course none of them understood English so no one got the point when he said "I'm not Micheal Phelps"
who caught the US team member (in the 200m i think) las night actin like he didnt step out of the line? something along the lines of "oh im gonna challenge it, oh yea, of course. i didnt know i stepped out". if i can find the video later ill post, dude had some awful attitude
right. both second and third place were dqed for stepping on the line. i mean, dude was surely embarassed, they let em both run around the track with their flags, and then they pull him aside, let him know, and put him on tv: "how do you feel?". uhhhh
also funny footage was them telling the fifth place dude he got a bronze medal and showing him the footage. dude seemed like "alright, word".
